What this evidences

  • leadership×0.6 at Developing

By the end, the learner can

  • Landowner partnership navigation: builds collaborative working relationships with farmers or ranchers whose land management priorities may conflict with conservation objectives, finding mutually acceptable solutions
  • Rancher partnership development: builds working relationships with livestock operators to co-design grazing rotation systems that meet both production goals and land health standards

Session plan

  1. 10 minHow these are scoredWhere this shows up: farms and forests or natural areas, working with supervisors, crew members, landowners or customers. Conditions to expect: safety-aware, outdoor, physically demanding. Entry roles this maps to: Agricultural Equipment Operators, Agricultural Inspectors, Animal Breeders.
    • aligns the work of equipment operators, field hands, and irrigation technicians to execute planting or harvest operations within time and resource constraints
From Farmers, Ranchers, and Other Agricultural Managers (11-9013.00)
  2. 25 minSituationsWork the task on your own first. Support is available, but ask for it out loud so the group hears what got you stuck.
    • Tools in play: Spreadsheet software, Office suite software, Data base user interface and query software.
  3. 10 minWhere the group splitCompare answers before the debrief. Where the room split is the useful part — the split usually marks a real judgment call rather than a knowledge gap.
    • Where did two people read the same situation differently, and what did each notice?
    • Which answer would survive a supervisor asking "why did you do it that way?"
  4. 10 minThe pattern behind the answersClose the loop: what changed between the first attempt and the last, and what would have to be true for collaboration to hold up on a bad day.
